A New England gothic monster novel that draws on the New England Vampire Panic and the story of Mercy Brown for inspiration. An Archivist with the Society for Eldritch Affairs, Theodosia Lockbridge is a field folklorist tasked with hunting monsters and cataloging her encounters. On the island of Salter’s Rock, a family is dropping like flies from an illness attributed to a vampire created by a family curse. When Millie, Thea’s colleague and close friend, sends her a cryptic letter from Salter’s Rock, she must continue Millie’s work to find out what happened to her and solve the mystery of the vampire and the family curse.

Here be pirates. A new pirate captain with a talent for sailing magic finds herself in trouble when the Fae leave their home under the hills of the mainland and begin hunting her. With a town dependent on her crew’s illicit activities and an unexpected group of undersea allies, the captain takes a stand to show the spirits of the land that salted blood can’t be rooted.
